Prime Minister Koizumi is trying to strengthen bilateral ties with India – further ensuring support for the UNSC bid? Japan already backs India and they will return the favor. The article at Reuters mentioned another detail – Japan is only the fourth biggest investor in India, after the United States… and Mauritius (Britain is 3rd). I knew Mauritius only from stories about the Dodo. Now it seems, since their independence some 37 years ago, they took off-shore
banking literally. Not bad for a rather small island in the Indian Ocean. Even Deutsche Bank joined the party.
